Amy Lynn Farrell (she/her) is a professor at the University of Manitoba, where she focuses on Indigenous education. A member of Eabametoong First Nation and Anishinaabe by heritage, Amy grew up with a foot in both Indigenous and non-Indigenous worlds.

To make matters worse, a mysterious Trickster keeps visiting her dreams with cryptic messages she doesn’t understand.

As Aubrey’s well-being unravels, a dark creature—one that feeds on suffering—begins stalking her. With the help of her Kokum, a medicine woman, Aubrey learns to tap into her spiritual strength. But when the creature crosses into the real world, Aubrey must find the strength to protect her family, and in doing so, confront her guilt and find peace.

The Moth Dreamer is a gripping tale that blends Anishinaabe traditions with a haunting journey through the physical and spiritual realms. Audience: Ages 12-15.

Sonya Ballantyne, (she, they) is a Swampy Cree writer, filmmaker, and speaker based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Illustrated by Rhael McGregor, a Queer Two-Spirit/non-binary artist of both Métis and settler heritage working in comics and animation. Colourist Azby Whitecalf (they/them/theirs) is a Plains Cree character designer and illustrator based out of North Battleford, Saskatchewan in Treaty 6 Territory. Letterer Kielamel Sibal “Kiela” Sibal (she, her) is a Filipino Canadian letterer, graphic designer, cartoonist, writer, and illustrator.

In this heartfelt and often-funny memoir, author Sonya Ballantyne gives us a look at her younger self’s diary and inner life as she struggles to find herself in the pop culture she loves.

Before she was a successful writer, Sonya Ballantyne was just another kid growing up on the rez, searching for her place in the world.
