Coltrane Seesequasis is a fantasy writer of Willow Cree heritage who grew up in Gatineau, Quebec. He first began his writing journey on long bus rides to school where he would alleviate the boredom by daydreaming of fantastical worlds, noble heroes, and unwavering villains. Eventually, he put those ideas to paper and started writing stories of his own with the hopes that they would one day morph into something more than just a passion.
Secrets of Stone is Coltrane Seesequasis' debut novel and the first book in his planned four-book series, A Wolf in the Sun. This series follows the adventures of the young wolf Silversong. Inspired by a love of nature as well as myths and folklore that challenge the limits of creativity, Coltrane Seesequasis joins a new generation of writers, adding his voice to the immersive genre of fantasy. Secrets of Stone and The Threads of Time are the first and second books in A Wolf in the Sun series respectively. The third book in the series is The Crucible of Pain.
In the wake of war, only ash remains. The Forgotten Ones are the humans who ruled the world before the beasts took over. They have returned to conquer the land once more. After enacting vengeance on the wolves of the Four Territories, they embark on a long journey south where they hope to unearth the secrets of uncontested dominance. Silversong can’t let this happen. With his companion Frostpaw, he leaves his pack behind to hunt down the leader of the Forgotten Ones. Their pursuit takes them beyond the Northlands and into a region ravaged by constant strife, and as Silversong trades blows with the Forgotten Ones and recruits unexpected allies to the cause, he becomes further and further entrenched on the bloody path to war.
