Description
Becky Tootoo was born Rebecca Simailat Iyago at the Military Hospital in Fort Churchill Manitoba into a large family of twelve. She is a retired educator who lives in Baker Lake-the only inland community in Nunavut. She's married to Frank. They have two children, Ami and TJ, and five grandchildren, Bryce, Arnammaktiq, Atuat, Genevieve, and Tuupik. Becky enjoys the outdoors. One of her favourite seasons is spring because that is the time that the land comes alive. She loves the land and what it has to offer. She's been taught that if you are good to the land, it will be good to you. Emma Pedersen is an illustrator from Toronto working in the publishing and animation industries.
