True North Aid will host a quarterly online Book Club in 2025. From Indigenous authored books including fiction and non-fiction, from themes of reconciliation, land, language, kinship, to selected works by acclaimed and published allies, True North Aid's Northern Reads Book Club promises a rich and engaging dialogue while building community across the country!
The first book we can’t wait to read alongside all of you is Valley of the Birdtail by authors Andrew Stobo Sniderman and Douglas Sanderson.

How this will work:

  • Registration is required. Please click here to register.

  • You will be contacted directly via email when we announce our next read on our socials.

  • Read the selected piece.

  • You will receive a calendar reminder and Zoom invite two weeks before our online Book Club gathering.

  • Join True North Aid staff online for one hour as we initiate conversations about themes, character development, educational points, setting, style, personal connection, and more!

This is a free event.

However, in the spirit of this literacy initiative, please consider financially supporting Northern Reads, our commitment to ensuring that northern and remote communities have access to Indigenous-authored and illustrated books.

True North Aid issues receipts for donations of $10 or more. You can also help by hosting a fundraiser that promotes and supports Northern Reads.
