Shaadaaxʼ Robert Zuboff (1893–1974), a master storyteller in the Tlingit language. Khaagwáask' Ishmael Hope is a Tlingit and Inupiaq poet, Indigenous scholar, video game writer, film actor, and novelist. Matthew Spellberg is dean and chair of literature at Outer Coast in Sitka, Alaska.

Led by Tlingit-Inupiaq poet and scholar Khaagwáask' Ishmael Hope, a team of scholars and Tlingit Elders have transcribed and translated the narratives that describe deep connections between land, lineage, culture, and history among the peoples of Lingít Aaní, what is now Southeast Alaska and the Yukon. The stories, presented in the original Tlingit with facing English translations, include: Deisheetaan Át Has Wuligas’i Yé / History of the Deisheetaan Migration, Ch’áak’ Ḵoogáa Wusoowú / The Eagle of Good Fortune, Dukt’ootl’, Kiks.ádi Shagóon / The Kiks.ádi Cycle, and Yayshadzeit. Rich with Indigenous placenames, cultural knowledge, and vivid language, this collection honors one of the great oral literary artists of the twentieth century.
